I am a biologist from the Universidade Federal de São Carlos with a Master degree
in Marine and Coastal Biodiversity and Ecology from the Universidade federal de
São Paulo. My research during my Master’s degree focused on exploring the vertical
structure of reef fish assemblages, spanning from shallow to mesophotic reefs using
Baited Remote Underwater stereo-Video (stereo-BRUVs).
Currently, I am a PhD student in Ecology at Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro.
My research builds upon my previous work, delving into the biodiversity of reef fish in
both shallow and mesophotic reefs using stereo-BRUVs. My investigations span
various scales, including local studies focused on understudied mesophotic
environments along the Brazilian central coast and oceanic islands, regional studies
across the Brazilian Province, and a global perspective obtained by searching and
compiling data from global BRUVs datasets.
My research interests are in population and community ecology, particularly of reef
fish. My goal is to incorporate knowledge about fish in mesophotic reefs to advance
this field of science, which is still in its infancy.
