BIOTECMar
I am an oceanographer from the Universidade do Vale do Itajaí (UNIVALI), with a
MSc degree in Ocean Engineering from Federal University of Rio de Janeiro
(COPPE/UFRJ). During my undergraduate studies, I used acoustic modelling to
investigate the influence of the salt wedge on sound propagation in an estuary. This
work also included the characterization of the local soundscape and the influence of
anthropogenic noise on fish. During my MSc I developed a computational tool for
sonar target tracking using Kalman filters.
Currently, I am P.h.D. candidate in Marine Biotechnology at Instituto de Estudos do
Mar Almirante Paulo Moreira/Universidade Federal Fluminense (IEAPM/UFF). My
main interests include underwater acoustic modelling, bioacoustics, soundscape
ecology, psychoacoustics and data science. My research focuses on the application
of artificial intelligence to reef fish acoustic ecology and species richness estimation
using fish biophony.
