I graduated in biological sciences, focusing on marine biology, at the Santa Cecília
University (UNISANTA – Santos/SP), and I have a Master of Science in Farmacology from the
Federal University of Ceará (UFC – Fortaleza/CE). During my master, I developed projects
related to antitumor bioprospection of marine natural products, isolation and cultivation of
invertebrate-associated bacteria, and techniques on molecular biology. Currently, I am
involved in research activities connected to a big project called PROSPECMAR – ILHAS. My
concerns are in bioprospection, and chemical ecology of reef enviroments.

Presently, I’am executing a project in association with LECAR (Laboratory of Ecology and
Conservation in Reef Enviroments – UFF/RJ), where I investigate the relationship between
predation, production of chemical defenses and metagenomic composition by the zoantide
Palythoa caribaeorum present in the Arraial do Cabo – RJ zone. The project also aims to
study the impacts caused by the hight predation rate on P. caribaeorum colonies, due to the
significant increase of the Eretmochelys imbricata turtle population
