During the first week of April, the researcher Cesar Cordeiro went to the 2nd Marine Biodiversity Workshop: from the
Sea to the Cloud representing the LECAR and the Projeto Costão Rochoso. In México, 35 representatives of
12 countries from all Americas including researchers, managers and policy-makers, were gathered to evaluate the
results of first surveys applying standard protocols that are going to be used to derive global indicators. The event was
supported by prestige institutions such as NOAA, NASA and GEOOS, and coordinated by Dr. Enrique Montes (University
of South Florida). This is one of the pioneer initiatives to build up a broad community of practice dedicated to identify
and understand changes in the marine biodiversity, also helping to achieve goals from global resolutions, such as
the Aichi protocol, in particular SDG 14 – Life below water. More information about the MBON initiative can be found in
the website, together with the material from all workshops. The monitoring events held in Arraial do Cabo are also
included in the schedule of the Projeto Costão Rochoso. Shortly, some results from previous campaigns will be
available online and future surveys and meetings can be followed here and on social medias (@projetocostarochoso,
@mbonpoletopole).

from the Sea to the Cloud representando o LECAR e o Projeto Costão Rochoso. No México, 35 representantes de
12 países das Américas, incluindo pesquisadores, gestores e formuladores de políticas públicas, reuniram-se
para avaliar os resultados das primeiras amostragens aplicando protocolos padronzados que serão usados ​​para
derivar indicadores globais. O evento foi apoiado por instituições de prestígio como NOAA, NASA e GEOOS, e
coordenado pelo Dr. Enrique Montes (University of South Florida). Esta é uma das iniciativas pioneiras para
construir uma comunidade de práticas dedicadas a identificar e compreender as mudanças na biodiversidade
marinha, ajudando também a alcançar metas de resoluções globais, em particular a ODS 14 - Vida na Água. Mais
