Conferences: Indo Pacific Fish Conference
The 10th Indo Pacific Fish Conference (IPFC) took part in Papeete, Tahiti the 2nd-6th October. The IPFC gathered
about 500 researchers and experts from the Pacific and around the world. A large range of topics were present such
as systematics, phylogeny, ecology, behaviour and conservation. Highlights during the conference included Prof
David Bellwood being awarded the Bleeker award for his outstanding contributions to the field of reef fish ecology,
and Dr Daniel Pauly giving a plenary talk about fisheries. LECAR was represented by PhD candidate Linda
Eggertsen who presented some of her work on macroalgae habitats as nurseries for reef fish.
